Duty Descriptions

Early Warning System Section Chief
Serves as the Early Warning System Section Chief for a Patriot Air and Missile Defense Firing Battery organic to (BDE) with a worldwide contingency mission in support of (HEU); responsible for the operation and supervision of organizational AD C4I system, establishes and participates in unit level training for crew certification programs and air defense exercises; responsible for the morale, health, welfare, training of (#) Soldiers and their Families; accountable for equipment in excess of ($$$$$$$)


Early Warning System Operator (EWSO) Team Leader
Serves as an Early Warning System Operator (EWSO) Team Leader in a Headquarters Battery assigned to a PATRIOT Battalion in support of a world-wide contingency mission; responsible for training Battery Command Post (BCP) crews; performs maintenance and data link management on Command, Control, Communications, Computers, And Intelligence (C4I) systems ensuring real-time data is available to the Battalion Commander to support Theater and Missile Defense operations; responsible for the health, welfare, training, and accountability of (enter #) Soldiers and their Family. Accountable for equipment valued at over $(enter amount).


Senior Early Warning System and Communications Equipment Operator
Serves as the Battalion's Senior Early Warning System and Communications Equipment Operator for the Air and Missile Defense Element responsible for the operations, maintenance and training of hte PATRIOT Battalion Tactical Control Station (TCS) and four automated Battery Command Posts (BCP); integrates the TCS and the PATRIOT ICC to provide Air Situational Awareness and Air Defense planning functions to brigade, battalion and four battery CP's for both Tactical Ballistic Missiles (TBM) and Air Breathing Threats (ABT)


Air Defense TOC Operator/Maintainer
Coordinates airspace in joint and special use airspace servicing military and civilian aircraft; identified and resolved conflicts between airspace use agencies; advises higher echelons and subordinate units on significant airspace activities and impact of Army Airspace Command and Control (A2C2) on operations; coordinates requirements for and disseminated flight plans, air defense and airspace control measure requests; supervises training and maintained readiness and cared for the welfare and morale of two Soldiers; assists in the accountability of equipment valued in excess of 3.2 million dollars.


MOS 14J Regional Command West (RC-W) Operations Sergeant
Served as the Regional Command West (RC-W) Operations Sergeant for the ADAM/BAE cell while deployed in support of OEF X 09-10; Currently serving as the AGI cell Assistant Operations NCO for 4TH BCT, 82nd ABN DIV; responsible for the health welfare, safety, and training of a five man brigade element capable of deploying worldwide within 18 hours of notification; responsible for the individual and collective training of his Paratroopers; responsible for the maintenance and accountability of all section equipment valued in excess of $1.5 million.


MOSC 14J1O
Performs march order, emplacement, initialization, and operator/organizational level system maintenance and PMCS on Air and Missile Defense Planning Control Systems (AMDPCS) as well as operating the Sentinel Radar. Evaluates tactical electronic intelligence data for force/engagement operations in a joint service network. Performs operations and intelligence duties and operates/performs operator PMCS on vehicles/system prime power units. Performs data connectivity between AD communications equipment using a Multi-Tactical Data Link (TDL) architecture with Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and Allied Nations. Perform on-line/off-line Common Hardware-Software diagnostics and fault isolation programs. Emplace, initialize, operates and march orders LAN, WAN, JTAGS, GMD and remote video displays.





An Air Defense C4I Tactical Operations Center Enhanced Operator is a member of the Army's air defense artillery team. The air defense tactical operations center operator supervises or serves as a member of a manual early warning network (MEWN) section, team, or platoon in operations and intelligence functions.

Duties as an Air Defense C4I Tactical Operations Center Enhanced Operator Maintainer may include:

Detect, track and identify aircraft
Broadcast early warning information
Perform operation and intelligence duties in Air Defense units
Evaluate tactical electronic intelligence data
