15S20 Team Leader
Serves as team leader responsible for administrative care and training of eleven enlisted soldiers; directs and supervises maintenance in support of the Squadron's 30 OH-58D Kiowa Warrior helicopers; responsible for training members in his section on all assigned equipment, including tents, stoves, and LMTVs; also responsible for Troop Commo Program as Troop Commo NCOIC.


15S20 Senior Crew Chief
Serves as a Senior Crew Chief in an Air Cavalry Troop in the rapidly deployable 3rd Infantry Division, preparing to deploy in support of Operation Enduring Freedon (OEF); responsible for the health, welfare, training and combat readiness of four 15S10 level helicopter mechanics; responsible for all the Troop's ground vehicles, equipment two M-GATORs and one tool box, to include troubleshooting of all systems on the 10 OH-58D(R) Kiowa Warrior aicraft assigned to his Troop, worth in excess of $48 million dollars.



Basic Job Description

The OH-58D Helicopter Repairer is primarily responsible for supervising and performing maintenance on OH-58D helicopters (also known as 'Kiowa Warrior' helicopters).

Duties performed by Soldiers in this MOS include:

Removes and installs aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components. Services and lubricates aircraft and subsystems. Prepares aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks. Performs scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections. Performs limited maintenance operational checks and assists in diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft subsystems using special tools and equipment as required. Uses and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment. Prepares forms and records related to aircraft maintenance. Performs air crewmember duties.

Provides technical guidance to subordinate personnel. Performs operational checks and scheduled inspections. Diagnoses and troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft subsystems.
