42A Mail Clerk
Performs and directs file sorting and distribution of incoming mail; ensures incoming and outgoing registered, insured, and certified mail is sorted, recorded and controlled in accordance with applicable regulations; ensures mail is picked up and delivered to the post office in accordance with current schedules; ensures security during delivery of mail to and from the post office and unit mailrooms.
Mailroom Specialist
Maintains unit mail facility; maintains accountability for and manages distribution of all unit and personal mail and parcels; performs daily operations including picking up, sorting, and distributing mail; receives, inspects and safegards mail; inspects, signs for and accepts responsibility for and processes classified mail; instructs patrons on acceptable packing; maintains scales and other ancillary equipment; calculates postage and accepts and records payments; documents and initiates search for missing mail.
Mail Clerk Supervisor
Serves as Mail Clerk Supervisor in a Cavalry Regiment supporting 1,300 military and civilian personnel; trains and qualifies new personnel; leads five Mail Clerks and ensures that proper procedures are followed for the receipt, recording, processing and delivery of various classes and types of mail; ensures proper maintenance of functional files; maintains physical security of the mailroom and the mail.
Mailroom QA
Verifies forms are complete and accurate; spot checks directory files for proper maintenance; spot checks mail receiving directory service for proper endorsements to ensure proper disposition; ensures periodic inspections are conducted properly and that follow-up action is accomplished; conducts inspections of unit mailrooms when necessary; responsible for the overall security of the mailroom.
