Training NCO Duty Descriptions

Training NCO
Maintains all training support materials; prepares materials for advising the unit commander on military education requirements and forwards applications for Army Service schools; provides the information required for the unit status report; attends all unit training meetings; develops and publishes unit training calendar and schedules; forecasts and secures training resources to include training sites; develops and maintains all training records; operates ATRRS and other training systems; maintains positive control of over $XXXX worth of equipment.


Training NCO
Maintains all training support materials; prepares materials for advising the unit commander on unit mobilization posture and requirements; provides the information required for the unit status report; attends all unit training assemblies, and annual training periods providing assistance and guidance in the preparation for and execution of unit training; conducts preparatory visits as required to training sites to ensure availability of and to procure required training areas, range, and training equipment; maintains the unit MOS qualification training program.


Training NCO
Performs duties as a Training NCO for an Inland Cargo Transfer Company consisting of over 200 Soldiers; responsible for carrying out the commander's plans and programs for the accomplishment of the unit's training objectives and missions; drafts training schedules; maintains unit training files by continual review of available publications; requests training areas, ranges, and other items required to support scheduled training; manages the company's allocations for NCOES and numerous other Soldiers schools; responsible for the health, welfare and safety of 6 Soldiers and their families; accountable for over $250,000 worth of equipment.


Training NCO
Training NCO for a deployable Corps Support Military Police Company, responsible for preparing all unit level training schedules, calendars and briefings; ensures all training requirements and logistical support are highlighted and forecasted; prepares and executes the monthly unit training meetings; provides the commander with the statistical data required to determine the unit's deployable readiness; manages the unit level training ammunition account; maintains all unit level training records; tracks mandatory unit training and strictly maintains Soldier database. Supervises seven Soldiers and is responsible for the units communications section.


Training NCO
Develops and maintains all training records; monitors, schedules, and prepares training; assists Soldiers in personnel actions and schedules service school attendance; advises the Operations Readiness NCO on deployment training; plans and executes unit mobilization plans; attends schools and conferences as required; operates ATRRS and other training systems; maintains positive control of over $80,000 worth of equipment.


TRAINING NCO
Serves as the Training NCO of a deployed Combat Sustainment Support Battalion with an assigned strength of over 1,400 Soldiers; responsible for the supervision of 3 NCOs; manages and disseminates Fragmentary and Operation Orders received from brigade to staff sections and subordinate units; develops taskings based on unit capabilities and assets; oversees and tracks training requirements for 9 subordinate companies; responsible for coordinating weekly training meetings for the Command Sergeants Major and First Sergeants; facilitates theater specific and professional development schools for the battalion; trains Combat Logistic Patrols on current enemy Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP's) and Counter-Improvised Explosive Device recognition and mitigation.


COMPANY OPERATIONS AND TRAINING NCO (COT)
Serves as primary trainer of the Station Commanders; responsible for assessing, planning, conducting, and evaluating training of station commanders and recruiters; identifies training deficiencies and develops a needs based company training plan ICW company leadership; conducts primary training for policy, doctrine, and new information management systems and technology changes emanating from HQ, USAREC; conducts training at Company training functions.


MASTER TRAINER (BATTALION LEVEL)
Serves as the primary trainer for the Company Operations and Training NCO (COT). Responsible for assessing, planning, conducting and evaluating training of COT NCOs and 1SGs. During this process, they identify training deficiencies and develop a needs-based battalion training plan ICW battalion leadership. Coordinate and conduct primary training for policy, doctrine, and new information management systems and technology changes received from HQ, USAREC; Conducts training at Battalion training functions; manages all developmental programs and the battalion s Professional Military Education Order of Merit List.


ARMY RESERVE TRAINING NCO
Responsible for ensuring successful accomplishment of those tasks which support the unit's training programs and objectives. Drafts training schedules for approval which comply with command guidance, directives and publications of higher headquarters. Maintains the training library and related training equipment and aids.



DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide supervision over unit's training requirements to enhance the unit's readiness. Responsible for monitoring non MOSQ Soldiers and submitting individual training requirements. Forecast and coordinate school seats via ATRRS. Develop and publish unit training calendar and schedules, forecast ammo requirements. Forecast and secure training resources to include training site. Responsible for updating and maintaining the unit mobilization files. Coordinate, compile and produces the Unit Status Report (USR) and Commanders Training Assessment (CTA). Position requires knowledge of the Automated Fund Control Orders System (AFCOS), Defense Travel Management System (DTMS, Army Training Requirements and Resource System (ATRRS) and a basic understanding of Microsoft based programs. Perform other duties as assigned.

Advises and assists the Company Operations Readiness NCO on military education requirements and forwards applications for Army Service schools. Assists in planning, updating and executing unit mobilization plans and loading plans, and unit supply planning. Attends schools and conferences as required by training, development and military education requirements. Become familiar with, operates and obtain passwords for RLAS, ATRRS, ITRS, TAMIS and any other training/training support systems or future systems that comes on line.

Responsible for military training by devising and implementing training plans, guidelines and procedures, reports and assessments for the unit and individuals assigned. Ensures that training is conducted in accordance with Army training doctrine. Prepares training guidelines, individual training records, operation orders, mobilization plans, SOPs, and readiness reports.

Prepares for unit yearly training workshop to develop yearly training plan with unit leadership.Prepares for monthly unit training meetings. Prepares training schedules and plans for approval of commander and higher headquarters. Maintains training guidance and documents as required by higher headquarters. Prepares training and evaluation outlines and lesson plans. Prepares correspondence for approval by commander or higher level supervisor.

As required, completes training expenditure forecasts. Coordinates training programs for the unit to include the scheduling of training areas, obtaining equipment and other materials required for testing of personnel and training scorer/evaluators or test officers.

Procures, designs, reproduces, and distributes a variety of training aids, map overlays, and transparencies that are necessary to unit personnel for the efficient operation and training of the unit.

Manages use of school quotas, training support and other training resources as allocated to the unit. Prepares and forwards requests for training for all unit members ensuring applicants are eligible to attend the school requested and all prerequisites have been met. Prepares or requests the appropriate personnel actions upon completion of required training and other qualifications.

Coordinates, schedules, and monitors the use of training facilities, areas and ranges for annual and inactive duty training. Makes recommendations regarding training facilities best suited to the unit in achieving its goals and objectives.

Initiates requests for equipment training support to higher, adjacent, and other military commands to support unit training objectives. Assembles and maintains statistics on weapons qualification, crew qualifications/table certifications, Army Physical Fitness Test, weight control, Common Task Testing, Military Occupational Skill Qualification and other critical data as required.

Trains unit leaders on how to maintain leader books and other training material as directed by the command. Assists in maintaining working relationships with local officials, clubs, etc. for a variety of such purposes as armory security coordination with police, suitability investigations, armory rental, unit participation in celebrations, or fund raising drives, and to provide public information about the unit activities.
