SPECIALIST PATRIOT EFFECTIVELY PARTNERED WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY (DHS), CUSTOMS AND BORDER PROTECTION (CBP), NON-GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS (NGOS) AND THE UNITED STATES BORDER PATROL (USBP) TO ASSIST IN THE INTERCEPTION OF THOUSANDS OF UNDOCUMENTED MIGRANTS AND THE SEIZURE OF ILLEGAL WEAPONS, DRUGS, AND CONTRABAND. HIS EFFORTS ALLOWED DHS TO SAFELY APPREHEND AND PROPERLY DOCUMENT OVER 3,000 ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS WITH THE HIGHEST ACCURACY RATE IN MORE THAN TEN YEARS. HIS SELFLESS SERVICE, PROFESSIONALISM, AND DEDICATION TO DUTY ARE IN KEEPING WITH THE FINEST TRADITIONS OF MILITARY SERVICE AND REFLECT GREAT CREDIT UPON HIMSELF, 3RD SQUADRON, 89TH CAVALRY REGIMENT AND THE UNITED STATES ARMY.

PETTY OFFICER JUSTICE PERFORMED HIS DEMANDING DUTIES IN AN EXEMPLARY AND HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL MANNER. HE EXPERTLY LED AND SUPERVISED OVER 1,200 HOURS OF CONTRIBUTORY SUPPORT TO KEY INSTALLATIONS AND PROVIDED OUTSTANDING POSTAL SUPPORT FOR 21 WORK CENTERS AND THREE SQUADRONS ALONG WITH THE U.S. MARINES 1ST LAW ENFORCEMENT BATTALION AND SPECIAL PURPOSE MARINE AIR-GROUND TASK FORCE-7 EAST, SUPPORTING THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND U.S. CUSTOMS AND BORDER PROTECTION NEAR THE SOUTHWEST BORDER. CORPORAL GOODMAN, AS THE SOLE HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR, PROVIDED CONTINUOUS OPERATIONAL AND LOGISTICAL SUPPORT FOR ALL BRANCHES OF THE MILITARY ENGAGED IN DEFENDING THE SOUTHERN BORDER. WHILE WORKING LONG HOURS TO SUPPORT CONSTRUCTION SITES ALONG THE SOUTHERN BORDER, HE SINGLE-HANDEDLY LOADED AND OFF-LOADED ALL CLASS IV MATERIALS WORTH AN ESTIMATED TWO MILLION DOLLARS AND WEIGHING IN EXCESS OF FIVE HUNDRED TONS. OPERATING HIS EQUIPMENT UNDER AUSTERE CONDITIONS, HE DEMONSTRATED RESOURCEFULNESS AND SUSTAINED OPERATIONS BY DIRECTING AND ASSISTING MECHANICS IN KEEPING MISSION CRITICAL EQUIPMENT OPERATIONAL. BY HIS TECHNICAL EXPERTISE, PERSEVERANCE, AND DEVOTION TO DUTY, CORPORAL GOODMAN REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND UPHELD THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE MARINE CORPS AND THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.




MERITORIOUS SERVICE WHILE SERVING AS NON COMMISSIONED OFFICER IN CHARGE AND CORPORAL OF THE GUARD, SPECIAL PURPOSE MARINE AIR GROUND TASK FORCE, CUSTOMS BORDER PROTECTION, BORDER PATROL WELLTON STATION, CAMP GRIP, WELLTON, ARIZONA FROM FEBRUARY 2021 TO MAY 2021. DURING THIS PERIOD, CORPORAL LOVING PERFORMED HIS DUTIES IN AN EXEMPLARY AND HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL MANNER. THROUGH HIS EXCEPTIONAL WORK ETHIC AND MANAGERIAL ABILITY, HE WAS A KEY FACTOR IN THE SUCCESS OF DAILY BORDER OPERATIONS. HE EXPERTLY COORDINATED AND SYNCHRONIZED THE DAILY OPERATIONS PROVIDED BY U.S. ARMY JOINT TASK FORCE NORTH IN EFFORTS CONDUCTED OVER 1,200 POST HOURS AND OVER 110 GUARD MOUNT HOURS. ADDITIONALLY, HE LED 16 MARINES IN DETAINING OVER 250 ILLEGAL TRANSPORT APPREHENSIONS AND IN TOURING AND MAINTAINING CONSTANT SURVEILLANCE OF OVER 100 MILES OF REMOTE COUNTRYSIDE. HIS EFFORTS WERE PIVOTAL TO THE EXECUTION OF 17,600 SURVEILLANCE HOURS FROM POST POINTS NEAR ALGODONES, MEXICO TO NEAR AJO, ARIZONA. CORPORAL LOVING'S PERSEVERANCE AND TOTAL DEDICATION TO DUTY REFLECTED GREAT CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND UPHELD THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE MARINE CORPS AND THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.




Outstanding achievement while serving as Supervisory Deportation and Detention Officer, Phoenix Arizona Criminal Alien Program from XXXXXXXX to XXXXXXX. During this period, Border Patrol Agent (BPA) Joseph Whataburger, during a period of extreme weather, responded to an injured non-citizen in the Baboquivari mountains. At great personal risk, BPA Whataburger hiked up a near vertical slope to get to the subject where BPA Jameson was already providing first aid. The subject could not walk and an air extract was requested. Over the next ten hours, agents continued to treat the subject, and at approximately 8:30 in the morning, a helicopter extracted the subject, saving his life. Corporal Whataburger's managerial ability, personal initiative and unswerving devotion to duty reflected credit upon himself and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Army.
