Senior Drill Sergeant

SFC Nash dedicated an extensive amount of time to the preparation of both himself and his Soldiers in individual, collective, and mission-critical tasks. He diligently examined military doctrine and incorporated insights gained from prior training exercises, qualifications, and deployments to effectively train more than 1,200 Infantry Soldiers across six training cycles in his capacity as a Senior Drill Sergeant. His unwavering motivation and determination not only inspired his trainees but also positively influenced his colleagues and superiors.





Narrator for Brigadier General Kelly for the Columbia, SC memorial day Ceremony. Contributed to the success of the Future Soldier Prep Course for 2nd Batallion 39th Infantry Regiment and the United States Army.

Participated in the Chaperoning of the Benedict College for the Male and Female basketball team. Demonstrated the Fit to Win and TDA course. Allowed them to participate in competition between the male and female team. They were shown how to eat Meal Ready to Eat (MRE). This experience showed them that the Army is more than just preparing for war. You can still get out and have fun with friendly competition.

Also participated in chaperoning the Watauga High School Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps, and showed them around the Fort Jackson Post. They got to witness Trainees execute the 40 foot tower at Victory and all other obstacles. They were shown and given instructions on how to eat MREs and witnessed how Delta Company 2-39 orchestrated Basic Combat Training in the Army. We answered any and all questions that were asked.

As a 3 year drill sergeant, I have graduated over 500 trainees from BCT. Serving two years in 2-39 BN training, mentored and accepted them into our ranks. I have graduated 240 trainees from BCT out of 2-39 BN. After the switch over from BCT to the FSPC program, I have sent over 1170 trainees off to BCT. Mentored, trained, prepared them for success to accomplish the task at hand. My third year in 1st BN 34 Inf Bn, I graduated 260 trainees, sending them off to the force to be great individuals and helping the army with the current mission at hand.





SFC Clinton served as the Equal Opportunity representative which led to no incidents. As the Ammunition Arms & Explosives key custodian, all arms room inspections were passed. While serving as a DS, he obtained his EEOCA certification, enhancing unit readiness and expertise under his expert guidance. Due to his aptitude for training, he was the recipient of the Drill Sergeant of the Cycle Award.





SSG XXX served as a Drill Sergeant in XX Company X-XXTH Infantry Regiment for XX months. During his time, Drill Sergeant Jackson assisted his platoon in earning one APFT streamer, two Land Navigation streamers, one Iron Man award, two Distinguished Honor Graduate awards, and the Honor Platoon award for two cycles. SSG XXX sets the highest standards for all Non-Commissioned Officers, leaders and Drill Sergeants throughout the Brigade.





SGT Dorale completed the US Army Drill instructor course at Fort Jackson. His outstanding leadership and participation earned his position in the top 15% of graduates. His diligence and dedication to duty, despite his non-volunteer status, reflects great credit upon the 3-339th, 95th DIV (IET) Unit and the United States Army.

During Annual Training at Fort Leonard wood, MO, Sergeant Dorale was in charge of 85 Soldiers and oversaw 212 while assigned as the drill instructor for Charlie Company, 1-48th. He instructed PRT, Land Navigation, Drill and Ceremony, and basic rifle marksmanship.

Sergeant Dorale passed the certification course for rappelling at Fort Leonard Wood. His attention to detail and safety and effective instruction facilitated the participation of over 200 soldiers in the confidence tower without any injuries. In addition, he instructed on the proper technique for tying the Swiss seat and how to rappel off the short tower.

Sergeant Dorale became a qualified drill instructor the first time on the trail. He distinguished himself as a smart, articulate, adaptive leader capable of performing his duties to the highest of professional standards. His high standards of technical and professional competence are evident in the success of his students.





1. SSG Duran is an accomplished Drill Sergeant. He displays great potential to be an exceptional leader. While assigned to D-Co 3-47 IN from JAN 04 to FEB 01 he accomplished the following:

a. Planned and coordinated two training cycles and is currently instructing a 22 week cycle. During the two cycles he transformed 230 civilians into highly motivated infantrymen. Successfully performed several key duties to include UPL, OIC, RSO, Armorer, and Ammo handler of ranges resulting in zero safety accidents.

b. Developed and implemented SOPs while activating 3/47 IN BN. He has enforced realistic and challenging training during two FTXs resulting in a successful new battalion.

2. SSG Duran is an outstanding Drill Sergeant that has experience in activating a battalion. He is current on all training and has no profiles. SSG Duran has left a lasting impact on the effectiveness, and efficiency of the company and will make an exceptional addition to his new unit.





FOR EXCEPTIONALLY MERITORIOUS SERVICE WHILE ASSIGNED AS DRILL SERGEANT IN SUPPORT OF BASIC COMBAT TRAINING OPERATIONS. DURING THIS PERIOD, SERGEANT CROSBY HAS SURMOUNTED ADVERSE CONDITIONS TO CONSISTENTLY OBTAIN SUPERIOR RESULTS. THROUGH DILIGENCE AND DETERMINATION, HE ACCOMPLISHED EVERY TASK QUICKLY AND EFFICIENTLY WHILE HIS UNRELENTING LOYALTY, INITIATIVE, AND PERSEVERENCE INSPIRED HIS PEERS AND SUBORDINATES TO STRIVE FOR MAXIMUM ACHIEVEMENT. SELFLESSLY WORKING LONG AND ARDUOUS HOURS, SERGEANT CROSBY HAS CONTRIBUTED GREATLY TO THE SUCCESS OF THE ARMY TRAINING AND DOCTRINE EFFORT. HIS COMMENDABLE PERFORMANCE IS IN KEEPING WITH THE FINEST TRADITIONS OF MILITARY SERVICE AND REFLECTS CREDIT UPON HIMSELF, the 2/13 INFANTRY REGIMENT AND THE UNITED STATES ARMY.




For exceptionally meritorious service while assigned as a drill sergeant to the 2/321st Regiment. 1LT Foster's dedication to duty, loyalty, and selfless service contributed greatly to the overall mission accomplishment of the 2/321 Regiment. His commendable performance is in keeping with the finest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, the 2/321st Regiment, and the United States Army.




FOR OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT FROM X XXX XXXX TO XX XXX XXXX. SSG SOLDIER'S MATURE LEADERSHIP STYLE COUPLED WITH HIS EXPERT LEADERSHIP ABILITIES SET HIM APART FROM HIS PEERS. HE WAS ABLE TO EFFECTIVELY CONDUCT ALL TRAINING ASSIGNED TO HIM WITH EXPERIENCE-BASED THOROUGHNESS THAT FAR EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS AND WAS BORNE OUT THROUGH THE SUCCESS OF HIS RECRUITS. SSG SOLDIER'S ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND SAFETY ENSURED MISSION SUCCESS ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. SSG SOLDIER'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS REFLECT GREAT CREDIT UPON HIMSELF, THE 1/414 INFANTRY BATTALION AND THE UNITED STATES ARMY RESERVE.




For exceptionally meritorious service as a Infantry Instructor. SFC Johnson's outstanding professionalism, untiring dedication to Soldiers and Soldier readiness greatly contributed to the success of the unit. SFC Johnson's capable Soldier care, technical and tactical expertise, and mentorship inspired his peers to such an extent that all training was performed in an exemplary manner which directly contributed to the successful graduation of over 70 qualified Infantry Soldiers and the mentorship of 18 Infantry Cadre. SFC Johnson's job performance earned him the distinction of being recognized by his peers as a true mentor. His performance reflects great credit upon himself, the 136th RTI and the United States Army. "Follow Me!"




PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT IN THE SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE OF HIS DUTIES WHILE SERVING AS A DRILL INSTRUCTOR FOR COMPANY L, 3RD RECRUIT TRAINING BATTALION, RECRUIT TRAINING REGIMENT, MARINE CORPS RECRUIT DEPOT, PARRIS ISLAND, SOUTH CAROLINA FROM 20 AUGUST 2007 TO 16 JULY 2010. DURING THIS PERIOD, SERGEANT ATKINS' SUCCESS AND EFFECTIVENESS WERE CLEARLY DISPLAYED THROUGH THE 350 CIVILIANS HE DEVELOPED AND TRANSFORMED INTO MARINES AND THE 17,000 RECRUITS HE PROCESSED AND PREPARED IN THE RECEIVING PROCESS OF RECRUIT TRAINING. IN ADDITION, SERGEANT ATKINS' DEMONSTRATED EXCEPTIONAL PROFICIENCY, OBTAINING WELL ABOVE AVERAGE SCORES FOR THE TRAINING EFFECTIVENESS OVERALL FOR THE BATTALION. SERGEANT ATKINS' RECEIVED DRILL INSTRUCTOR OF THE QUARTER FOR 3RD RECRUIT TRAINING BATTALION AND ASCENDED TO SENIOR DRILL INSTRUCTOR. SERGEANT ATKINS' INITIATIVE, PERSEVERANCE, AND TOTAL DEDICATION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIM AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE MARINE CORPS AND THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.




MERITORIOUS SERVICE WHILE SERVING AS RECRUIT DIVISION COMMANDER AND FLEET QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTOR AT RECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND FROM MAY XXXX TO MAY XXXX. AS RECRUIT DIVISION COMMANDER, HE EXPERTLY TRAINED EIGHT DIVISIONS, TRANSFORMING 755 CIVILIANS INTO BASICALLY TRAINED AND HIGHLY MOTIVATED SAILORS READY FOR DUTY IN THE FLEET. HAND SELECTED AS FLEET QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTOR, HE CONDUCTED OVER 200 INSPECTIONS OF OVER 22,000 RECRUITS IN ALL PHASES OF BASIC TRAINING AND MAINTAINED RECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND'S SHIP'S TRAINING TEAM PROGRAM, RESULTING IN A HIGHER QUALITY OF SAILOR ENTERING THE FLEET AND A BETTER EQUIPPED AND PREPARED DIVISION COMMANDER.
