He successfully operated in the Battalion FDC and managed over 200 Fire Missions requiring 812 Rounds, all of which landed safely in the safety box. More than a hundred fire missions were received and processed over secure voice communications. In addition, he successfully processed and sent Meteorological data every morning in a timely matter, improving accuracy and facilitating success within the battalion's firing batteries. Finally, he kept over 200 record of fires accurate and organized to maintain an accurate ammo count.

SSG XXX, between the dates of 04 to 07 November, successfully processed thirty-two dry fire missions during Scenario Training Exercises (STX) and six live fire missions to result in twenty-four M28A1 Reduced Range Practice Rockets (RRPRS) down range qualifying eight launcher crews and two Platoon FDCs on Artillery Table XII and Artillery Table XIV for the Deep Steel Battalion; Alpha Battery is now one of four Battery's in the United States Army qualified up to Artillery Table XIV.
SSG XXX was essential to the overall success of Alpha Battery during OPERATION RED FORGE at Yakima Training Center (YTC). As Battery Operations Center (BOC) Chief, he did an outstanding job in troubleshooting and maintaining voice and digital communications with the Battalion Fire Direction Center (FDC) as well as both Assassin Platoon FDCs for over fifty hours during operations. His technical and procedural knowledge exceeds that of his rank and grade and is an asset to the Deep Steel Battalion and Thunderbolt Brigade.

Sergeant Casey provided leadership and direction as NCOIC of the HHB 3-27 Field Artillery OPFOR team for 3-321 FA CTE. His experience and competence with squad movements, weapon systems and assault tactics allowed him to coach and mentor the Soldiers on his team and optimize their training. Sergeant Casey's dedication to the team provided a realistic lane for the members of 583rd BSB during CTE and increased their operational readiness and confidence. During the advance party phase of annual training at Fort Carson, Colorado, PFC Soldier was directly responsible for the Battalion's vehicles and equipment being unloaded, inspected, and maintained prior to the main body arrival. His proactive approach to his responsibilities facilitated operational readiness and reduced delays by at least 3 hours over last year. PFC Soldier set the standard for fire direction in the battery, leading the way, on every move, to becoming fire mission capable as soon as possible, even when using other battery's unserviceable equipment. His efforts reduced set up time by 50% and resulted in the battery putting 88 rounds down range safely and achieving the Battery's assigned mission. SPC Soldier's achievements reflect great credit upon himself, 2nd Battalion, 12th Field Artillery Regiment and the United States Army.
