Battle Systems Operator
SPC Nutmeg served as the sole Battle Systems Operator for the Air and Missile Defense (AMD) IIIAC CUOPS Command Post. SPC Nutmeg joined the CPXII exercise with the right attitude and leveraged her experience and expertise as a 14G to maintain the Common Air Space picture for all Command Posts and provide current information to Senior Leaders and other Warfighting Functions. Her foresight and relentless follow-up improved situational awareness exponentially and kept all exercise participants appraised on current conditions, enabling mission success. SPC Nutmeg's performance exceeded standards and demonstrated her ability to serve as an effective and future leader in the Air Defense Branch.
Battalion Commander
Exceptionally meritorious service as the Battalion Commander of 1st Battalion, 265th Air Defense Artillery, in charge of five Air Defense batteries and one Military Police company. LTC Hastings led his battalion through successful disaster responses to a series of challenges, from natural disasters to medical epidemics, and returned the warfighter focus to the mission through rigorous field training and leading Soldiers with extraordinary ethics and integrity. LTC Hastings' laudable efforts are in keeping with the finest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, the 164th Air Defense Artillery Brigade and the United States Army.
Assistant Operations Sergeant
SGT Kellog filled in for a Senior Air Defense NCO and distinguished himself as an indispensable IIIAC G3 Air & Missile Defense asset who demonstrated an extensive knowledge of Air Missile Defense systems. SGT Kellog, without the benefit of rank or support, leveraged his experience to anticipate and answer all Air and Missile Defense questions from Senior Leaders at the CUOPS Command Post. His accurate analysis and well considered solutions provided critical AMD insights related to Tactical Ballistic Missile Warnings and Air Breathing Threats which enabled and sustained the other Warfighting Functions and ensured mission success.
Sentinel Radar Senior Operator
For meritorious service while assigned as a Sentinel Radar Senior Operator Minimum Deployment Package, Headquarters 1st Battalion, 188th Air Defense Artillery during the period of 15 January 2021 to 15 January 2022. During this period, Specialist Smith displayed fortitude, dedication and skill in support of Operation Noble Eagle. Specialist Smith immediately identified training shortfalls and operational requirements, and ensured his team and other soldiers met or exceeded requirements. In addition to his regular duties, Specialist Smith assisted the maintenance section in day-to-day motor pool operations. His actions streamlined operations for the Minimum Deployment Package resulting in increased readiness and mission success. The accomplishments of Specialist Smith bring great credit upon himself, the Headquarters 1-188th Air Defense Artillery and the United States Army.
