His timely actions resolved a work stoppage and bolstered the unit's capabilities and readiness in the INDOPACOM AOR. Sergeant XXXXXX'S exceptional dedication and devotion to duty reflect great credit upon himself, the 983rd Engineering Battalion and the United States Army.




Heavy Construction Equipment Operator

Outstanding achievement while serving as Heavy Construction Equipment Operator, 276th Engineer Battalion, Petersburg, Virginia from XXXXXXXX to XXXXXXXXX. During this period, Staff Sergeant Alex Aceves organized, planned, and managed a 25,000 cubic yard excavation and soil relocation project for Naval Special Warfare Group Four in Little Creek, Virginia. He skillfully networked with local SEABEE and other resources to obtain the necessary personnel and equipment, and planned and managed all aspects of environmental, utilities, and logistics requirements. In addition, he attended numerous meetings with base leadership, both civilian and military, to ensure all aspects of the project were properly, legally, and safely coordinated and completed. The crew he organized worked over 1,200 man hours and saved the Navy over six months of delays and $3M in construction costs. The notable accomplishments of Staff Sergeant Aceves reflects credit upon himself, the 276th Engineer Battalion, the 329th Regional Support Group and the United States Army.
