OIC, HUMINT Interrogation Certification
Led, planned, and coordinated HADES SPARK II as the Officer in Charge (OIC) of the Detachment's annual HUMINT Interrogation certification event. Excelled under direct view of unit leadership, MIRC leadership, and INSCOM subject-matter experts. Certified 100% of participating Soldiers in individual Interrogation tasks without disrupting the unit collective mission to support HUMINT Targeting. Coordinated with a national agency for event participation, aiding in initiating a strong partnership between the Detachment and its new mission partners. Conducted post-event coordination identifying training gaps in Law of War training for Large Scale Combat Operations, resulting in additional training to prepare Soldiers for their future mission. Produced all briefings, orders, and AARs to ensure a repeatable event for future fiscal years. Laid the foundation for progressively complex interrogation training, and a smooth mission transition from one mission to another through his outstanding professional and military bearing.
HUMINT Collection Team Leader
SPC Boyd took charge of the HUMINT Collection team he was assigned to in the absence of orders when his team leader fell ill and became mission ineffective. As Team Leader, he took the initiative to serve as a mentor to 1/34 2nd PLT, Bravo Troop Cavalry gunners in IED detection, emplacement, aiming, and timing of Improvised Explosive Devices, improving vigilance and overall mission readiness and expanding his influence beyond his team, platoon, and unit. SPC Boyd was an integral part of overall mission success.
SPC Boyd distinguished himself by demonstrating to all that he is a professional Soldier, dedicated to excellence in developing others. He helped others in battle rigging their gear for effective magazine and peripheral equipment deployment. Through his professionalism and expertise, he returned an M2 Browning 50. Caliber Machine Gun from long-term storage status to fully mission capable within a mission prep time-line some would consider impossible. He also initiated contact with the 1167th Trans Company to source a critical component for the operation of the weapon system, providing the team with superior suppressing firepower within the battlespace.
