Public Affairs Chief
Outstanding achievement while serving as Army Public Affairs Chief, Headquarters, US Air Forces in Europe, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. On temporary duty to the United States Embassy in Poland, he supported the United States Ambassador and his entire staff in the aftermath of the 10 April 2010 aircraft crash near Smolensk, Russia, that killed the Polish President, First Lady, and ninety-four others. Master Sergeant Nelson and his team chronicled the Polish nation in mourning, the repatriation ceremony of the victims, a State Funeral, and numerous funerals, burials and ceremonies, including the Polish Deputy Defense Minister, Chief of Defense, and Air Chief. The photos, stories and videos captured critical information that would otherwise not have been recorded due to the magnitude of the tragedy and the impact on the US Embassy staff in Warsaw and the US Consulate in Krakow. Deputy Chief, Public Affairs
Meritorious service while serving as Deputy Chief, Public Affairs, 433d Airlift Wing, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, from XXXXXXXX to XXXXXXXX. During this period, Master Sergeant Kehoe stepped up to lead the Joint Task Force Civil Support public affairs directorate on numerous occasions during his Operation NOBLE EAGLE deployment. In this key position, he helped motivate a joint public affairs staff in achieving an "Excellent" in Records Management. In addition, he created and presented a new topic for the National Operations Security community's largest annual conference, expanding Public Affairs resources worldwide. Recognized by Interagency OPSEC Support Staff as a "benchmark", the topic became a permanent part of the conference curriculum. Handpicked by Fourth Air Force, he flawlessly executed multiple tasks in support of high profile Air Force Week events to include expert coordination of media in the nation's second largest news market. Public Affairs NCOIC
Meritorious service as Public Affairs NCOIC from XXXXXXXX to XXXXXXXXX. His superior skills and knowledge as the Public Affairs NCOIC garnered an outstanding rating during the Operation Readiness Inspection by creating and executing a high quality training plan for the Public Affairs Office to utilize in preparation for their pending deployment. In addition, his tireless efforts and motivational leadership helped transform an outdated file plan from Multimedia to Public Affairs for the 2014 Unit Compliance Inspection, by utilizing high quality photo and video imagery he helped develop a state of the art file plan which directly resulted in the Public Affairs Office receiving a grade of excellent. Deputy Chief of Public Affairs
Captain Dennis M. Cateland distinguished himself by meritorious service while assigned to the 31st Fighter Wing, Aviano Air Base, Italy. During this period, Captain Cateland performed his duties in an outstanding manner enabling a robust community relations program, social media outreach, coordinated crisis response and multimedia coverage of wing operations. As the Deputy Chief of Public Affairs, he confidently led operations during the Public Affairs chief's seven-month deployment and was key to the office earning two Air Force and 14 major command awards. Captain Cateland oversaw the office merger of public affairs and multimedia personnel under one roof creating cross utilization and streamlining daily operations with minimum manning. Captain distinguished himself amongst his peers by graduating from the Air and Space Basic Course as a top performer and earning distinguished graduate at the Defense Information School Public Affairs course. While serving as the Public Affairs Officer at Medical Central and Eastern Europe Exercise 2009 held in Serbia, he led a joint team of seven to provide international coverage of fifteen countries. Finally, while serving as the Berlin Air Show United States Contingent Public Affairs Officer, he arranged 30 international media events while releasing eight articles and 550 images. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of Captain Cateland reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Air Force.

Meritorious service as Public Affairs Operations NCO from XXXXXXXX to XXXXXXXXX. Staff Sergeant Elliott's leadership and technical expertise vastly improved and expanded the existing social media program, contributed to more than 100 published photos, 20 news releases and 5 media engagements, enhancing command information dissemination and media relations. Sergeant Elliott's performance reflect great credit upon himself, the 504th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade, III Corps, and the United States Army.
Deputy Director, Public Affairs, Bureau of Diplomatic Security
For exceptionally meritorious service as the Deputy Director, Public Affairs, Bureau of Diplomatic Security from 2006 to 2018. Mr Chad Listerman demonstrated the highest levels of expertise, empathy, and personal courage as acting Director of Public Affairs charged with improving office morale, developing long-lost organizational processes, encouraging creativity, demystifying the word "plan", and repairing organizational trust in DS/PA. During his tenure, Mr Listerman continually displayed the highest levels of professionalism and grace under fire while dealing with multiple external and internal crises, including the attack on Benghazi, email controversies, and preventing the staff from having nervous breakdowns. With his open-door policy, compassionate leadership, sense of humor, bravery in the face of adversity, and commitment to doing the right thing, Mr Listerman excelled in the roles of manager, mentor, mediator, morale maintainer, and mental health monitor. Chad's exceptional performance, professionalism, friendship, and dedication to duty reflect great credit on him, humanity, mid-level management, and the public affairs profession.
