Sliker led the way in all phases of training as the subject matter expert on a quality improvement team conducting a risk assessment for High Level Disinfection (HLD) and Sterilization of Endoscopes used throughout Evans Army Community Hospital. Her thorough investigation resulted in a 40% decrease in reported infections while simultaneously expanding operating room capacity by 30 percent. In addition, she was selected over 16 fellow staff members to orient three Air Force nurses during a difficult transition from another military hospital. The efforts of Captain Sliker reflect great credit on herself, Evans Army Community Hospital and the United States Army.
