DURING THIS PERIOD, SERGEANT GONZALES DEMONSTRATED SUPERIOR MANAGEMENT SKILLS AND TECHNICAL EXPERTISE WHILE SUPERVISING 13 PERSONNEL AND COORDINATING THE PRODUCTION OF OVER 220,000 PAIRS OF SPECTACLES WHICH CONTRIBUTED TO MAINTAINING THE LARGEST OPTICAL LABORATORY IN NAVY REGION SOUTHWEST. ADDITIONALLY, HE SCREENED 5,357 PATIENTS, PERFORMED 1,100 OCCUPATIONAL PHYSICALS, AND 700 PRE-GLAUCOMA WORK-UPS THAT CULMINATED IN $100,000 IN SERVICES RENDERED AND ENABLED THE MILITARY SERVICES TO MAINTAIN FOCUS ON ITS GLOBAL OBJECTIVES. THE STERLING ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF SERGEANT GONZALES REFLECT CREDIT UPON HIMSELF, NAVY REGION SOUTHWEST AND THE UNITED STATES ARMY.
OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT WHILE SERVING AS OPTOMETRY TECHNICIAN FROM 15 AUGUST 2020 TO 29 AUGUST 2020. DURING THIS PERIOD, PETTY OFFICER MAGOO CONTRIBUTED SIGNIFICANTLY TO THE INNOVATIVE READINESS TRAINING (IRT) CHENANGO COUNTY OPTOMETRY DEPARTMENT AS THE LEAD OPTOMETRY TECHNINCIAN. HE SUCCESSFULLY DESIGNED AND MANAGED THE CLINIC PATIENT FLOW SYSTEM WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT, RESULTING IN THE PROVISION OF CARE TO OVER 1,200 PATIENTS IN A 14 DAY PERIOD, A TWENTY PERCENT INCREASE IN SUPPORT. IN ADDITION, HE SINGLE HANDEDLY PERFORMED OVER 600 EYE SCREENINGS AND AIDED IN THE FABRICATION OF 3,500 PAIRS OF PRESCRIPTION EYEWEAR. HIS EFFORTS IN THE SUSTAINMENT OF THE IRT CHENANGO MISSION INCREASED THE QUALITY OF PATIENT CARE WHILE SAVING CHENANGO COUNTY 1.7 MILLION DOLLARS IN HEALTHCARE COSTS.
