Meritorious service while serving as Administrative Clerk for the 37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team S1, Columbus, Ohio, from 10 March 2016 to 22 August 2018. Sergeant Cecil Kane's initiative and commitment to the mission assisted senior leaders in his section and leaders across the brigade with critical administrative actions. His duties included Personnel Actions for Officers and Enlisted, Award Processing, weekly report updates, iPERMS, record reviews, and DEERS/RAPIDS assistance. Sergeant Kane's exemplary handling of administrative actions attest to his professional knowledge, responsibility, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to shifting mission requirements. As Admin Clerk, he completed over 1,000 SIDPERS transactions and sought additional knowledge by volunteering for and attending the ARNG Basic Human Resources and Admin Course. In addition, he trained and qualified three Soldiers in his section on multiple personnel actions including Awards, Military Education, iPerms, and Suspension of Favorable Personnel actions. Specialist Westmoreland's exceptional performance in establishing an effective company orderly room and creating programs to ensure company readiness increased the overall effectiveness of the unit exponentially. His superb organizational skills allowed him to effectively manage operations of the HHC orderly room, directly impacting the company's ability to accomplish the mission. He not only executed his assigned tasks in a timely manner, he anticipated taskings that may get assigned and took the initiative to complete tasks beforehand. This directly improved the company's ability to meet HHC suspenses in advance so time could be devoted to other taskings. Staff Sergeant Katherine A. Barnes distinguished herself by meritorious service while assigned to Eastern Air Defense Sector (EADS), Rome, New York from XXXXXXXX to XXXXXXXX. During this period, the outstanding professional skill, leadership and ceaseless efforts of Sergeant Barnes resulted in major contributions to the effectiveness and success of the Sector's Knowledge Operations Management Section. While Sergeant Barnes served as administrative support for the Sector Orderly Room, her efforts were directly responsible for producing and publishing the monthly Sector Newsletter. She was also instrumental in providing valuable customer support services to over 400 EADS personnel during a time when the operations tempo was at its highest level. Sergeant Barnes' initiative and technical expertise were also evident in the deployment of the Sector's Communicator System enhancing the unit's recall procedures. Sergeant Barnes further distinguished herself by providing medical administrative support. Her keen attention to detail was crucial to the development of a new tracking system which improved the effective and timely management of medical requirements for all sector personnel. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of Sergeant Barnes reflect great credit upon herself, the Air National Guard, and the United States Air Force.
