PURPOSE OF COUNSELING
The purpose of this counseling is to remind you of the barracks rules for visitors and quiet time
KEY POINTS OF DISCUSSION
Other barracks occupants have complained that you have unauthorized visitors in your room and make so much noise that they cannot get adequate sleep.
Soldiers living in the barracks have a right to privacy even when they share a room. They must be allowed a certain amount of time every day when they can rest and relax. The purpose of Quiet Time is to meet this requirement and establish hours when barracks occupants can expect to enjoy peace and quiet in their room and in the barracks. This allows Soldiers to rest, sleep, study and otherwise enjoy their off-duty time.
To facilitate the best living experience for barracks residents, the following rules have been established:
During Quiet Hours (2200-0500), the volume of radios, stereos, and TVs will be kept to a minimum and will not disturb adjacent room occupants.
Visitors are authorized from 1700 to 2200 but, when more than one Soldier is assigned to a room, each must give permission beforehand for any visitors.
Visitors under 18 years of age are not allowed at any time unless they are a family member.
Visitors will not stay overnight under any circumstances.
To ensure these rules are followed, all visitors must be signed in and out at the CQ desk.
PLAN OF ACTION
Soldier will review AR 600-63, Army Health Promotion, and AR 600-20, Army Command Policy, and the local OI.
As supervisor, I will follow up with SPC Sullivan's roommate and the barracks manager to ensure the above guidance is being followed.
LEADER RESPONSIBILITIES
I will ensure that any order I give is lawful, morally sound, and does not risk a Soldier's health. I will monitor SPC Sullivan's actions and ensure he complies with barracks rules.
I will provide corrective training if SPC does not adhere to standards.
ASSESSMENT
SPC Sullivan understands that compliance with the barracks OI is merely common courtesy and he now shows great consideration for his fellow barracks occupants. He continues to be a valued member of our team.
