No one is more professional than you. You are a Non-Commissioned Officer, a leader of Soldiers. - (Defines what you are from the start)
As a noncommissioned officer, you realize that you are a member of a time-honored corps, which is known as "The Backbone of the Army". - (We lead, train, enforce, and carry out orders of those appointed over us)
Be proud of the Corps of Non-Commissioned Officers and conduct yourself so as to bring credit upon the Corps, the Army, and your country at all times regardless of the situation in which you find yourself. - ( Lead by example and always maintain professionalism)
You will not use your grade or position to attain pleasure, profit, or personal safety. - (Power is a privilege not a right)
Competence is your watchword. Your two basic responsibilities will always be uppermost in your mind: accomplishment of your mission and the welfare of your Soldiers.

- Welfare - Make sure they are paid, fed, healthy, and rested; take care of Soldiers, they will take care of the Mission
You will strive to remain technically and tactically proficient. ("Be, Know, Do")
You are aware of the role of a Non-Commissioned Officer. You will fulfill the responsibilities inherent in that role. - (Know your roles and responsibilities - FM 7-22.7)
All Soldiers are entitled to outstanding leadership; you will provide that leadership. - (It's not a privilege it is a right! - Provide purpose, direction and motivation)
You will know your Soldiers and will always place their needs above your own. - (Know your Soldiers, keep a Leaderbook, they come first)
You will communicate consistently with your Soldiers and never leave them uninformed. - (Be clear, Be concise, don't withhold information, and do so in a timely manner)
You will be fair and impartial when recommending both rewards and punishment. - (Ensure reward/punishment matches achievement/crime; have an even playing field)
Officers of your unit will have maximum time to accomplish their duties; they will not have to accomplish yours. - (Know your lane and stay in it; achieve the endstate)
You will earn their respect and confidence as well as that of your Soldiers. - (Do not demand it. You must earn it)
You will be loyal to those with whom you serve; seniors, peers, and subordinates alike. - (Give/show firm and constant support or allegiance)
You will exercise initiative by taking appropriate action in the absence of orders. - (When in charge, be in charge; do so to ensure endstate is achieved efficiently)
You will not compromise your integrity or your moral courage. - (Do not accept a standard that is lower than desirable)
You will not forget, nor will you allow your comrades to forget that we are Professionals, Non-Commissioned Officer, Leaders! - (Check yourself and check your battles!)
