Ohio National Guard Award Order of Precedence
Ohio Cross. The Ohio Cross is awarded to any member of the Ohio National Guard who distinguishes him- or herself at the risk of his or her life. The service must have been voluntary and demonstrate bravery or self sacrifice so conspicuous as to clearly distinguish the individual from his or her peers.
Ohio Distinguished Service Medal. The Ohio Distinguished Service Medal is awarded to any senior member of the Ohio National Guard who distinguishes him- or herself by exceptionally meritorious service to the state or to the United States.
Ohio Commendation Medal. The Ohio Commendation Medal is awarded to members of the Ohio National Guard who distinguish themselves by meritorious achievement. The performance must be of such significance as to merit recognition for service above the call of duty.
Ohio Faithful Service Ribbon. The Ohio Faithful Service Ribbon is awarded to any member of the Ohio National Guard who has completed five consecutive years of honorable service during which he or she has shown fidelity to duty, efficient service, and loyalty to the state of Ohio.
Ohio Special Service Ribbon. The Ohio Special Service Ribbon is awarded to any member of the Ohio National Guard who provided active military service to the state for the purpose of maintaining law and order or protecting lives and property during natural disasters or civil unrest.
Ohio Award of Merit. The Ohio Award of Merit is awarded to enlisted members of the Ohio National Guard who complete three years of faithful and honorable service, during which they have demonstrated fidelity to duty, efficient service, attended at least 85% of training assemblies, and all annual training events.
Ohio National Guard Basic Training Ribbon. The Ohio National Guard Basic Training Ribbon is awarded to enlisted members of the Ohio National Guard who complete the initial active duty basic training required by law. Award is also made to those individuals who complete the Civilian Acquired Skills Program.
Ohio Recruiter Achievement Ribbon. The Ohio Recruiter Achievement Ribbon is awarded to recruiters who achieve 125% of their assigned mission for a period of 12 consecutive months. Award is also made to members who are responsible for the enlistment of two new members into the Ohio Army National Guard.
