MEMORANDUM FOR DISTRIBUTION
SUBJECT: Letter of Recommendation for Green to Gold Program for PFC Steven W. Johnson
1. PFC Johnson's Green to Gold application carries my highest personal and professional endorsement. I wholeheartedly tender my highest recommendation for PFC Steven Johnson's acceptance into the Army ROTC's Green to Gold Program.
2. I know him to be a highly motivated candidate with huge potential. As a Public Affairs Mass Communications Specialist, he continually demonstrates leadership qualities through his duties to include managing the 1st Infantry Division's social media pages, a duty that would otherwise be performed by an NCO. In addition, he extends his influence beyond his own organization by being the unit's Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) representative. As a junior enlisted Soldier, he continues to operate far above his pay grade and regularly interacts with senior NCOs, Officers, and General Officers in a professional manner not often seen in Soldiers of his grade. He proactively and effectively sets priorities and consistently meets his objectives. He foresees and corrects potential problems in advance.
3. PFC Johnson will make a great addition to the Officer Corps of the United States Army. If selected, I am confident he will excel and be an asset to any organization.
