Transportation Logistics NCOIC
Serves as the Transportation Logistics NCOIC in the G4 Mobility Division in a forward deployed ARFOR Headquarters/Eighth Army; serves as an advisor for all matters related to theater transportation policies and procedures; supports deploying, redeploying forces and sustainment operations; manages the distribution, retrograde and redeployment of equipment, personnel, supplies & services, and onward movement from ports of debarkation; analyzes transportation requirements, develops plans, coordinates for resources, and provides oversight of mobility operations; reviews and analyzes land, air, sea movement programs and procedures; responsible for planning and coordinating movement operations on the Korean theater of operations by using all modes of transportation.


Transportation Management Supervisor
Serves as a Transportation Management Supervisor for a FORSCOM Movement Control Team aligned with the 53rd JMCB; allocated under the 43rd ASG; supervises the accountability, tracking, and deconflicting of movements; tracks containers and equipment transported by Host Nation Trucks; initiates, researches and proposes necessary changes to the traffic managements system for cost effectiveness; supervises any diversion, reconsignment, or transfer of freight and material in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.


88N30 Movement Supervisor, (Battlefield Coordination Detachment)
Serves as Movement Supervisor, Battlefield Coordination Detachment, Airlift Section; determines transportation capabilities and limitations of units; ensures allocation of transport capability is appropriate to accomplish each mission in a cost effective manner; trains section for combat operations; maintains situational awareness of enemy and friendly operations; interfaces with the ARFOR commander's Chief of Staff, logistics section; interprets tactical data concerning mission objectives and scheme of maneuver.


88N30 Movement Supervisor, (Airlift Section)
Serves as Movement Supervisor, Battlefield Coordination Detachment, Airlift Section; advises the airlift officer on matters pertaining to USAF airlift and airdrop support and acts as liaison with air transportation facilities supporting ARFOR; prepares, consolidates, and reviews technical, personnel, and administrative reports covering airlift transportation data; consolidates and reviews movement requirements; assists airlift officer in planning transportation for logistics support; monitors and reports any diversion, reconsignment, or transfer of personnel, freight, and material shipments for airlift transportation.


88N4O Senior Movements NCO
Serves as a the Senior Movements NCO for the 171st Movement Control Team (MCT) and Movement Control Company (MCC) supporting the National Training Center (NTC); responsible for supervising, planning, coordinating and the execution of deployment and redeployment operations of equipment for brigade and larger sized units utilizing commercial railroad agencies; accountable for four Army locomotives valued at $6.8 million dollars; ensures equipment is configured for transport according to military, DOT, and the Association of American Railroads section-six; responsible for the health, welfare, discipline, and safety of eight NCOs, 17 Soldiers, and their Families.


88N3O Movements Supervisor
Serves as the Surface Movements Supervisor for the 171st Movement Control Team/National Training Center (NTC) Movement Control Company, 1916th Support Battalion; supervises, plans and coordinates movements to and from the National Training Center; serves as a transportation liaison for rotational units; responsible for the professional development, training, welfare and morale of six NCOs and eight Soldiers and their Families. Serves as the communications NCO responsible for the maintenance and unit proficiency with all in-transit visibility equipment.


Cargo Distribution NCOIC (SDDC)
Serves as Cargo Distribution NCOIC in a OCONUS Ocean Terminal Battalion; responsible for the documentation for the Deployment and Distribution Management Team (DDMT) missions and exercises both on Okinawa and deployed locations; assist with managing container detention charges; ensures uninterrupted import and export of Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) and Defense Commissary Agency life support of over 177,498 measurement tons; supports Battalion Training Program and unit events.


AIT Instructor/Writer 88N48 AND 88N38
Serves as Instructor/Writer for 88N Transportation Management Coordinator Course; instructs IET and MOS Reclassification Soldiers in Transportation Coordinator-Automated Information for Movement Systems II (TC-AIMSII) modules; provides technical advice and guidance to new Assistant instructors; develops and updates lesson plans; constructs manuscripts, student outline, examination, and training aids to support specific classes; researches, reviews, and makes updates to programs of instruction (POI); reviews course curriculum development and solves technical problems; responsible for the health, welfare and training of 30 students at any giving time.


Movement Control Team Supervisor
Serves as a Movement Control Team Supervisor for the Group Service & Support Company, Group Support Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne); serves as a transportation liaison for a group support battalion representative between other military services, commercial agencies and host nation support elements; supervises cargo documentation and movement control for 5th SFG(A) deployments and redeployments; responsible for over $2 million in equipment.


G4, Senior Transportation Movement NCOIC
Serves as G4, Senior Transportation Movement NCOIC in support of a forward deployed Theater Signal Command (Provisional) in a combat zone consisting of over 3,000 personnel and $500 million in assets and equipment in the CENTCOM AOR; directly responsible for 100% of Command transportation (Air, Land, Sea) and vehicle maintenance management supporting OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM (OEF), and the GLOBAL WAR on TERROR (GWOT); specifically directed to provide logistics support to key signal projects throughout CENTCOM AOR; designated as the MOB/DE-MOB NCOIC during transition of personnel in/out of theater.

Responsible for managing all land, air, and sea movements; devise, develop and review movement programs for logistical support functions in a theater of operations, focusing on Joint Reception Staging Onward Movement and Integration (JRSOI), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Defense Support of Civilian Authories (DSCA), and Homeland Defense missions; serve as a transportation liason to joint military organization, commercial agencies, and host nation support elements.

Serves as the Senior Movements NCOIC of a forward-deployed Transportation Battalion with regional responsibility for the reception, staging, and onward (RSO) movement of forces and equipment throughout seaports in Southern Europe, the Balkans/Adriatic Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, the Red Sea, the Black Sea, and Northern Africa; performs export and import cargo documentation and assists in vessel cargo operations; prepares and distributes MILSTAMP cargo traffic messages to ports of discharge; supervises seven NCOs.






MOS 88N - Transportation Management Coordinator, CMF 88

a. Major duties. The transportation management coordinator coordinates, monitors, controls and supervises the movement of personnel, equipment and cargo by air, rail, highway and water; determines the most efficient mode of transport that accomplishes mission requirements. Duties for MOS 88N at each level of skill are:

MOSC 88N1O. Advises military and DoD civilians of their entitlements for shipment of personal property and passenger travel and prepares the necessary documentation; requests and coordinates transport capability to meet a movement mission; marks and labels cargo and freight shipments in accordance with regulatory requirements; documents and inventories freight, cargo, and materiel shipments of all types; operates automated data terminal equipment to prepare movement documentation or related correspondence; arranges documentation and reports for follow-up or response to tracer actions; prepares transportation movement documents and related forms for the type of shipment and mode of travel (GBLs, MTAs, GTRs, airline service requests, etc); performs office duties such as posting regulations, files maintenance, and routine office correspondence.

MOSC 88N2O. Provides supervision and technical guidance for subordinates; researches, interprets, prepares, and coordinates actions pertaining to travel entitlements; functions as the customs officer for shipment releases in overseas theaters; operates as quality control NCO for commercial movement contracts; monitors all freight, cargo, and materiel shipments to ensure accountability; identifies and reports problem areas within the traffic management system to prevent additional costs, losses, or damage; conducts briefings for unit moves; requests, coordinates and monitors movement schedules and programs; ensures transport capability is appropriate, cost effective, and meets mission requirements; checks and inspects equipment blocking and bracing; prepares and consolidates transportation movement reports; operates automated data processing equipment to document movement information, conduct research, and monitor movements; inspects commercial contracts and responds to shipment inquiries, discrepancies, and routine movements transactions.

MOSC 88N3O. Conducts a training program for subordinate personnel; supervises the operation of a cargo and materiel documentation unit, a movement control branch or section, a break bulk point or terminal warehouse, a trailer transfer point, a port operations unit, an air terminal section, or the installation personal property and passenger travel section; evaluates work techniques and procedures for all functions; maintains liaison with air, rail, highway and water transportation facilities; initiates, researches, and proposes necessary changes to the traffic management system for cost effectiveness and mission requirements; supervises customs officers and reviews customs procedures in overseas theaters; prepares, consolidates, and reviews technical, personnel, and administrative reports and forms covering transportation matters (unit movement, personal property, passenger travel, freight/cargo and materiel movement reports); checks, reviews, and consolidates movement requirements; ensures appropriate transport capability and prepares movement schedules; assists in planning transportation requirements for logistical support; supervises any diversion, reconsignment, or transfer of personnel, freight, and materiel shipments for all modes of transportation.

MOSC 88N4O. Supervises cargo documentation and movement control units for all transportation modes; supervises freight, cargo, personal property, and passenger travel at installation level; analyzes, evaluates, and proposes changes to the Defense Transportation System; formulates and reviews documentation on technical traffic management functions; devises and reviews movement programs for logistical support functions in a theater of operations; serves as the transportation liaison representative between other military services, commercial agencies, and host nation support elements; advises the preparation of operation orders where transportation is required; reviews DoD contracts and agreements with host nations; verifies the accuracy of movement control documents; evaluates sites for depots, truck terminals, railheads, beachheads, air terminals and water ports or terminals; determines transportation capabilities and limitations of units; performs as staff NCO in military traffic management agencies; monitors quality controls that ensure commercial transportation services meet contract obligations; monitors and documents all customs discrepancies and reports them to appropriate authorities; ensures allocation of transport capability is appropriate to accomplish each mission in a cost effective manner.
