AS PAB CHAIR, SHE PROVIDED OVERSIGHT TO STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES DESIGNED TO PROMOTE, SUSTAIN, AND IMPROVE PATIENT SAFETY. LIEUTENANT JUNIOR GRADE CLARISE PERFORMED HER DEMANDING DUTIES IN A HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL AND EXEMPLARY MANNER. AS THE SOLE MCMH RN, SHE DISTINGUISHED HERSELF BY PROVIDING CARE, SUPPORT, AND LEADERSHIP TO MORE THAN 2,000 BENEFICIARIES, 11 PROVIDERS, 33 SAILORS, AND THREE CIVILIAN STAFF MEMBERS. ADDITIONALLY, ON THE LABOR AND DELIVERY UNIT, HER EFFORTS ASSISTED WITH THE SAFE DELIVERY OF OVER 2,700 OBSTETRIC ENCOUNTERS. MOREOVER, SHE ASSISTED WITH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF MARINE CENTERED MEDICAL HOME AT BRANCH MEDICAL CLINIC KINSER AND MANAGED SCHEDULES AND PROTOCOLS THAT RESULTED IN AN UNPRECEDENTED 45 PERCENT INCREASE IN ACCESS TO CARE FOR BENEFICIARIES. FURTHER, SHE OBTAINED A GOLD BLUE H AWARD AND WAS FUNDAMENTAL IN ACHIEVING A LEVEL THREE NCQA CERTIFICATION FOR BMC KINSER. LIEUTENANT JUNIOR GRADE CLARISE'S PERSONAL INITIATIVE, PERSEVERANCE, AND UNWAVERING DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HERSELF AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
CDR Clair performed superbly as Vice President and later President of the Executive Committee of the Medical Staff. In these roles, she served on our Joint Commission survey leadership team, ultimately resulting in a successful site survey. Further, she led efforts to update key policies to ensure institutional compliance. CDR Clair's contributions as Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialty Advisor include adept management of Navy Medicine's training pipeline and manning goals, and thoughtful oversight of specialty assignments, ensuring that individual and community needs were met. Her academic accomplishments have been unmatched and include promotion to Associate professor, selection as fellowhsip Program Director, and selection to serve on the Editorial Board for Obstetrics and Gynecology, her specialty's premier journal.
