91X Maintenance Manager

SSG Cavasos has served with distinction, honor, and commitment in the United States Army for 20 illustrious years, during which time he was a key component in two combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, three rotations to Grafenwöhr Germany, five rotations to Poland, one rotation to Africa, Slovenia, Lithuania during RC17, RC18, 16th National Training Center rotations and countless field training exercises. Throughout his career he contributed to the success of multiple organizations with superb maintenance leadership.




Construction Mechnic

Meritorious service while serving as Construction Mechnic, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB), Port Hueneme, Mississippi from XXXXXXXX to XXXXXXXX. During this period, as Alfa Company Workcenter Supervisor, Sergeant Seymore A. Longoria efficiently managed three work centers and 16 mechanics to complete 300 preventive maintenance checks on 283 pieces of vital construction equipment in a contingency environment. His leadership, experience, and foresight increased maintenance efficiency to 98% overall readiness in less than 12 months with no increase in manning. In addition, he devoted 80 man hours to draining over 3,000 gallons of hazardous waste from 33 pieces of construction equipment and transporting it to the Defense Reutilization Marketing Office (DRMO), making a significant contribution to the reutilization program. The sterling accomplishments of Sergeant Longoria reflect great credit upon himself, the Naval Mobile Construction Battalion and the United States Army.

WHILE MOBILIZED FOR ANNUAL TRAINING WITH THE 649TH EN CO IN SUPPORT OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA AS A 91L CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT REPAIRMAN FROM XXXXXXX TO XXXXXXX. PV2 SMITH DISPLAYED DEDICATION TO THE ARMY VALUES AS WELL AS THE MISSION. HIS EFFORTS DIRECTLY CONTRIBUTED TO THE CONTINUAL READINESS OF OVER 60 VEHICLES SUPPORTING THE 649TH EN CO ANNUAL TRAINING MISSION. PRIVATE SMITH'S HARD WORK AND DEDICATION REFLECTS GREAT CREDIT UPON HIMSELF, THE 649TH EN CO, 579TH BN, THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA AND THE UNITED STATES ARMY RESERVES.
