KEY POINTS OF DISCUSSION
SPC Snuffy, I (as well as the leadership up to the company commander) am aware of the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, and as you are aware there are some significant training events on our schedule during this time. We will attempt to accommodate, as much as possible, any request that you make in regards to this time.
The current guidance that your religious accommodations will be based on is our current mission requirements. Depending on the mission requirements:
o You may be granted part or all of the fasting period from on or about 3 April 2022 - 2 May 2022.
o You may be exempt from physical training.
o You may be authorized 3 days leave/pass for the celebration of the breaking of fast (Eid-al-Fitr) from 2 May 2022 - 5 May 2022.
o When possible, you will be allowed to observe the five daily prayers: Fjar, Zuhr, Asr, Maghreb, and Isha.
o You may be able to participate in less strenuous or physically demanding duties.
o You may be released from duty 30 minutes prior to sunset to prepare for the breaking of fast and evening prayer.
These bullet points are not all encompassing, but are an example of what may be permissible depending on what the current mission dictates.
PLAN OF ACTION
o You will notify SGT Smith of any religious accommodations that you will require.
LEADER RESPONSIBILITIES
o I will attempt to facilitate any and all requests that you make in regards to Ramadan.
o All requests will be handled at the lowest possible level first.
o All requests may not be possible due to on-going mission requirements but all requests will be taken under consideration and passed up to the appropriate level for final approval.
